Dear Sir or Madame,

I am representing the Scholarship Committee for the Kitsap Quilters’ Quilt Guild.  Our guild consists of approximately 275 quilters living in Kitsap County.  We are very involved in several philanthropic projects within the community.

b.      have graduated from high school at lease four years prior to application for the scholarship

c.      have completed course work above the 100 level

d.      be enrolled in an accredited Washington state college, university, or technical institution

e.      be enrolled in a Fiber Arts program, including, but not necessarily limited to sewing, weaving, clothing design, quilting, dyeing, basketry,

curatorship and preservation, history and technical production of textiles. (Art courses that include design, composition, surface design, and

         art history are also considered.)

f.       have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale

I request that you provide the enclosed application to interested students in order that they might complete, and return it, to us at the address listed at the top of the application.  Our committee will review all applications and select the individual we feel is most deserving of the scholarship.  (Please note that we do not require a financial statement from any applicant.)  Upon selection, the student will be notified of his/her selection and required to sign an agreement to use the scholarship in their course of Fiber Arts study.  Upon receipt of the student’s agreement, our treasurer will forward a check to the appropriate institution’s Financial Aid office.

Thank you so very much for your assistance in this project.  If you have any questions, please contact us at this email address:  toquilt@embarqmail.com
